Mothering the Mother.
Providing peaceful and compassionate postpartum care to families transitioning to life with a newborn.
A postpartum doula provides evidenced-based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. Research shows that moms, dads, and babies have an easier time with this transition if a good support team is in place.

Hi y’all,
My name is Morgan Spann and I am so excited that you are here.
I’m a born and raised Dallas, Texas girl. I graduated from Smith College in Northampton, MA with dual B.A. degrees in African American and American Studies and hold a Masters in Mass Communications from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. After years in the philanthropic and communications sectors, I decided that it was time for a shift in my life to do more personal and fulfilling work and decided to complete my postpartum doula training with CAPPA.
Inspired by my own reproductive journey, I feel called to do birth work in this phase of my life. I have the most wonderful five year old daughter and being her Mom is absolutely the best part of my life, however my journey to her did not come without its challenges. From struggling with pregnancy loss, to a pregnancy that required me to be on full bed rest for my entire third trimester, and ultimately delivering via c-section. I am well versed in needing supportive around the clock care. And most importantly I count that care as one of my biggest blessings. I believe that care is what allowed me to bring a beautiful baby to this world safely and transition to motherhood with confidence.
Motherhood has forever changed me and my role as your postpartum doula first and foremost is to be your confidant and cheer you on during those first tender moments of becoming a Mama. Additionally, you and your partner will need support as you come into one of the most beautiful stages of life. Transitioning to parenthood is a big deal and you deserve to feel supported and cared for so that you can be your best self for your new bundle. And let’s face it, like all new things, it takes time to find your groove so why not have some extra support as you enter this new season of life.
My goal is to nurture you and your family with the support you need so that you will thrive well beyond our time together. I’m so excited to be with you every step of the way.
Let’s work together.
Xo

Daytime Support
Every family’s priorities differ—my postpartum support is flexible and customized to each family’s needs. We will work together to come up with a plan that makes the most sense for you.
Overnight Postpartum Support
Our overnight shifts consist of 8 hours of support, with a flexible start time. While you sleep I tend to your baby, making sure baby is fed, soothed and content. I can bottle-feed baby or bring baby to you to feed, based on your preference. Overnight support can also include tidying up the kitchen, washing pump parts, doing laundry and preparing meals for the next day, depending on your needs, with baby’s care being the priority.
Antepartum Care
Virtual Postpartum Support
Let’s face it— pregnancy can be exhausting because you are growing a tiny human after all. I personally believe you deserve all the rest and papering as you prepare you end your pregnancy journey. Whether you need help unpacking those final shower gifts, setting up your nursery, washing baby clothes, running last minute errands, I am here to help. I want to make sure those final weeks are as stress free and the most joyful as possible.
Virtual support is great for those moms and dads that have questions about newborn care, breastfeeding, hormonal and/or emotional changes, and need informational support after childbirth. I will be your postpartum coach to help support you with breastfeeding, infant care, self care and emotional support.
